Road Closure Notification & Access to Hickman Main Park
UPDATE!!! Road Closure Notification May 30, 2023:
Due to the availability of the contractor, the Exit Bound North Traffic Lane of the Roundabout will be closed through Saturday, June 3, 2023. The additional closure is to allow for the repairs and curing of the concrete panels. Roundabout access will remain after May 31 to allow traffic to flow south, east or west. 68th Street northbound traffic will need to utilize the business access road on U-Stop/True Value property or detour north on Autumn Road to Woodland Blvd.
68th Street and Hickman Road Roundabout will be closed for street striping on Tuesday & Wednesday, May 30-31, 2023. The City was also notified that BNSF will be closing the railroad crossings on State Hwy S-55G (Hickman Road) and 2nd Street (entrance to Main Park) May 30 through June 1, 2023 for track maintenance.
Through traffic traveling around Hickman should use the marked detour on 54th Street, Roca Road, 82nd Street and Panama Road. Detour signage will be placed by the contractor.

Access will remain open on 68th Street north of Hickman Road for Dollar General and south of Hickman Road for Family First Dental, House of Colour, and First State Bank; Hickman Road east of 68th Street will be open for access to Ustop, True Value, Meadowlark Pharmacy, Adventure Academy, Peak Physical Therapy, East Meets West, and Subway. Access to those local businesses will also remain on Prairie View Drive, however, the construction staging area on Prairie View Drive off 68th Street will remain closed.
Hickman Main Park Access
Attention Baseball Players, Coaches, family, and friends:
Please consider carpooling or utilizing the City’s Trail System to attend baseball games on May 30, 31 and June 1, 2023. Vehicle access and parking in Hickman Main Park may not be available due to the railroad crossing closure on 2nd Street (entrance to Main Park). The sidewalk crossing the railroad tracks will remain open for pedestrian traffic. Limited public parking spaces are available in the downtown area.
